Anne Chlovechok
Anne Chlovechok lives and works in Southeastern Ohio. She is the managing editor of The Journal & Noble County Leader, a weekly newspaper serving Noble and surrounding counties. In this capacity she writes or edits much of the content in the newspaper, including an award-winning original column. She also writes occasional columns under the pseudonym Arthur the Journal Cat, because Arthur can’t write them himself.
Chlovechok has written seven original Sherlock Holmes murder mystery plays, all of which have been produced and staged in partnership with the Guernsey County Visitors and Convention Center, Cambridge Main Street and the annual Cambridge Dickens Victorian Village. The plays are all in three acts, and are directed by Chlovechok, who occasionally takes a role for fun. She is currently writing the eighth play, “Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Candy Cane Codicil”, which will be staged the first and second weekends in November, 2023. The first weekend is a two day Murder Mystery Weekend event, in which Act One takes place Friday evening, Act Two Saturday morning, a search for clues Saturday afternoon, and Act Three and the Big Reveal on Saturday evening along with the awarding of prizes to attendees who come closest to guessing Who Done It. The second weekend will follow a traditional staging of the entire play each evening. Go to visitguernseycounty.com for more information.
Chlovechok’s first traditionally-published book, Ruth’s Ginger Snap Surprise” a sweet Amish romance, will be published in December, 2023 by Barbour Publishing, Inc. She is currently working on a second Amish romance, Mary’s Calico Hope. These books will be part of a three-author series called Heart of the Amish being published by Barbour. For this series, Chlovechok writes under the name Anne Blackburne.
Future projects could include Amish suspense or a sweet mystery series featuring a trio of middle-aged friends who stumble into potentially dangerous crimes.
Chlovechok is the mother of five brilliant children, all grown, and one spoiled standard poodle.
